Author’s Note: “Health Fairs are a great way for women and families to obtain information on health related issues. Many screenings, brochures, and seminars are included in the registration fee (sometimes the Health Fair may be free). It is not unusual for women to find out, during the health screenings, that they may have high blood pressure, bone loss, or a weight problem that need to be evaluated by their physician! We hope that everyone reading this article will take time out of their busy schedule to go to a Health Fair and learn more about how to maintain a healthy and productive life. We wish you good health & happiness.” - Mike & Hope HIGHMARK Blue Shield sponsored the one-day event, which was held in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Approximately 1,500 women attended the Conference Workshops. A cooking demonstration was performed to show how to create healthy soul food and Latin dishes. Free health screenings were performed at the Conference. Many Organizations attended the event giving women a chance to learn more about other health issues that were not covered in the Workshops. The Hope For Fibroids, Inc. was invited to the Conference to talk to women about Uterine Fibroids.
